I must admit, as I write right now it feels like my imagination, or even my whole brain, has moved into somebody else’s head… I feel completely brainless…
Is it because of the alcohol intake over Christmas and New Year? Is it because of the overdose of phosphor in the shape of chocolate? Because our bank account is an ugly shade of red? Is it because this is the time of the year when we decide to start all over again and the pressure is too much to take? I just don’t know. My lack of sleep is definitely greatly responsible!
The boys are now sleeping in the same room and if it started really well, it soon became a ping pong match at night. One starts and wants his dummy, 20 min later the other one asks for a drink, then wakes the first one who loses his dummy again… then Elliott, who is now in his “big boy bed”, thinks that it is really cool to suddenly have this sense of freedom and pacing the house at 3.30 am is even cooler! Add to this a husband who could sleep through an earthquake and you can understand why I have those huge bags under my eyes. Talking about bags, I’d love to pack them right now and go to some places in the sun to recharge my batteries.
This is what January always does to me… every year is the same story. By the time Christmas and New Year are over that’s it, I have had enough of the cold, lack of sun and I see the damage of chocolate, alcohol and good food on my hips, bum, you name it! I know that this time will come every year, so why don’t I get ready for it? I refuse to fall into the New Year’s resolutions trap. It doesn’t work for me. I tried it many 1st of January and they usually never lasted longer than a month… if they survived a week!
Instead I am making a pact with myself, in front of all of you, and declare that from now on, I will make sure that I have something planned to look forward to, for every month of January to come!
Thinking about it, there are so many things you can plan ahead such as booking a holiday, a weekend in a Spa, an art class… anything that you really fancy doing and that you could reserve for that month.
I agree that comes January, finances look pretty gloom and this is not the sort of month you want to spend on luxuries, however, if you plan it ahead you could save especially for it.
Actually this gives me an idea: setting up a saving account called “January Fun”, where we can put as much or as little as we like and January is the month to spend it on anything we fancy!
So I solely declare that by the end of the month, the Poysers’ saving account “January Fun” will be officially open!

Please do let me know you’re happy (or not) for me to drop you a line! (Georgina.annett@p-zaz.com)

Yep it is!! Can’t wait to spend it all next January. We might be planning a grand night in London, maybe in one of those Top Nosh restaurants like Jamie Olivers or Gordon Ramsays. Anywhere where we can’t take the kids but don’t tell them
