So I HAVE AN iMAC!! and yes I am more excited than if I had bought a pair of dream shoes or an amazing bag and I love shoes and bags, oh yes I do!
There are a few things I hadn’t planned though for example the time I would spend google-ing things like:
- Where is the hashtag on the keyboard (or am I BLIND?)
- How do you copy and paste doing the quick “used to fingers and click on 2 keys at the same time”?
- Still using two fingers how do you switch from one window to another? Still trying to figure that one out.
- How do you do a quick “undo”?
- How do you get the “magic mouse” to behave?
- How do you do a left click for heaven’s sakes??!
- Can’t they create a decent blog editor like Windows Live Writer?! This is quite surprising that in the world of sleekiness no one has come up with something good…
This aside and surely lots more as time goes, I am totally won over. The sound is amazing, the picture mind blowing, the look stunning… I might just marry it…

it might feel funny for a few days but then you’ll never be able to work on a PC again. I promise you. You know what they say: Once you go Mac, you never go back!
I totally agree, I will never ever go back to anything else than mac for sure
Sorry to pop your iWorld bubble, I would just like to remind you;
1. You can’t marry it as you are already married, albeit to a husband who is “iJealous” and desperately wants a Macbook Pro and iPad22. Despite all the sleekness and stunning looks, how is it a foot and back massages!!3. You did promise that I could use it once in a while….
YAY on coming over to the light side!!
1. alt+3 is your hashtag.
2. ctrl-z I think?
3. there’s a free app called MagicPrefs that is just what you need. Makes the tracking much faster, and you can control more easily what the different swipes do, to what works for you.
4. see #3
5. Still not found one likw WLW. *whimpers* it’s the only thing Microsoft did right! *sigh*
Thanks Marylin! I am learning more as I go and I am never disappointed
I first met a Mac 6 years ago, a very old blue one but it was love at first sight. Then came my iMac 3 years later and finally my MacBook Pro a year and a half ago. This does not include my love of my iPod or my iPhone, along with the contemplation about buying an iPad 2 next month when I’m in America. Addicted? Oh yes!!!!!!
Congratulations on your new true love. x
P.S. In my last post, I expanded on my comment and l linked to your iMac post. Hope you don’t mind. :-)
I am so happy for you!!!! I converted to macs about 4 years ago (I got a MacBook with my job). I bought a MacBook Pro about 3 months ago and because I couldn’t get enough I also just bought an iMac! I, too, tried to marry it but my husband put his foot down. Dammit.
For my birthday Elfie bought me a magic trackpad which replaced my mouse and I fell in love all over again.
Mac do really great workshops if you have a store close to you - http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/workshops/#workshops_browser_gettingstarted – they’re a good way to get started! xx
Oh the MAGIC TRACKPAD! my christmas present all found!
At the moment I am coping with my toshiba as laptop but I can’t see it last very long before I invest in Apple’s empire again
Thanks for the link btw, I checked it out and might give one a go. xx
I gave up my Toshiba Laptop for a MacBook Pro two years ago and will NEVER go back to a PC/Windows machine again. Oh to fondly (*not*) remember how long it would take to boot up….. to run updates and instals at will….. to freeze at the drop of a hat…. oh I miss them days {*smirk*}
