Here is the latest from Susannah at SHM Personal Styling. I looove a Tunic and I find this post really inspiring once again. Thank you Susannah!
A Tunic is an incredibly versatile item of clothing. You can dress it up or you can dress it down depending on the occasion. They are an outfit in themselves – just requiring a few key accessories here and there. And best of all they are flattering on virtually every figure. They skim over problem tummies and hips, they cover any saggy bingo wings and they can make the one area of your anatomy that is on show – your legs, look slender and endless. So what’s not to love about a tunic? And no matter what you’re doing or where you’re going you can be pretty sure there’s a tunic out there that will fit the bill just nicely. So do your research, Monsoon, Wallis and House of Fraser are my usual go to’s when looking to update mine and invest in a couple if you can – you won’t regret it.
Off Duty: Leggings are great under tunics; they keep the look nice and relaxed whilst giving you that bit of leg coverage that our British weather usually necessitates. Add a pretty pair of sandals or flip flops, a casual bag like a ruck sack or slouch bag and you’ve got the perfect weekend outfit.
Smart: Tunics are great for more formal occasions; just replace the leggings with a pair of slim fitting capri pants or treggings to smarten the overall look up. Add a pair of wedges and a statement accessory or two and you’ve got an outfit that will take you from a lunch date with friends to a business meeting at the office easy peasy!
Occasion dressing: There are some truly beautiful tunics in the shops and often in fabulous prints and mouth-watering colours. If you’re brave enough, then tanned (fake or otherwise) shaved (!) bare legs look fabulous. If not (and I never am) then invest in a pair of toe-less tights or stockings. Accessorise with some statement bling – chandelier earrings, sparkly cuffs, clutch bags and so on and team with a pair of killer heals. A stunning and eye catching outfit that will easily outshine any ‘Little Black Dress’ combo.
