CybHer 12, it’s tomorrow!

I am feeling excitement with a touch of anxiety.

I am excited because Cybher is one of those conferences that makes me want to jump up and down with a squeal. Imagine the people waiting for Harrods to open its doors on the first day of sales. Imagine their bodies pressurised against the doors about to explode! Imagine their heart racing with excitement waiting to discover plenty new amazing things! That’s how I feel right NOW!!

I am also anxious because I am running a session on something I am totally passionate about. But what if no one turns up? What if they don’t like me? What if they throw their shoes at me (preferably size 6, no heels, oh and if possible both of them at the same time).

I simply cant wait as I know I am going to see amazing bloggers that I haven’t seen in ages but I will also meet new ones…

So for the ones who will decide to come to MY session “Revamp your blog for less than £50″, which is at 15.50 in the Annex, then I will be delighted to welcome you there!

What we will be covering are simple design tweaks and changes that will instantly make your blog look stunning and professional. We will talk about the use of colours, fonts and graphics to speak the same language you are in writing. We will talk about being creative and how to use FREE tools to translate all that.

This presentation is based on (almost) 4 years of blogging, where I went from knowing nothing at all to now talk codes and other geeky stuff. This is all self taught knowledge based on the desire to achieve a sleek look on a budget. I am experiencing and learning daily and I promise to share and update EasyTechClub with lots of tutorials that will help you do the same.

This presentation is based on WordPress blogs, however the major part of the session will be talking about general skills that you can apply whether you are a Blogger, Typepad or WordPress user.

I am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and I raise my coffee to our blogging success! (it’s way too early for gin…)

Cybher, let’s meet and greet!

This video is for the Cybher meet and greet over at Sian’s blog and I decided to do a video just because.

So here you go, I think it covers pretty much what it should be covering including height and hair colour…

Just in case you missed the rather important stuff here are the facts in writing:

My name: Peggy Poyser
My other blog: EasyTechClub
Twitter ID: @perfhappymum
Height: about this tall
Hair colour: kind of highlighted blond (straw like currently) with a self made horrible fringe!

Have you check my new blog The EasyTechClub yet?

I am very excited to tell the world that just 3 days ago I launched my new blog the EasyTechClub. I have a lot of energy and passion going in this project because this is something I feel so in tune with!

Four years ago I was a newbie in anything online. I didn’t know what was a blog let alone creating one. But then it happened, my life changed and my career took a new direction. I found something to stimulate my creativity, to challenge me and to help me connect with others like me.

Four years down the line and I have decided to share what I have learned. From the web and graphic design skills that I learned along the way to the tips and tricks I discovered and want to share with you.

I am going to start working on a series of blog posts to take by the hand the novice and maybe the not so novice who want to work on giving their blog a real unique identity.

If you want to follow then make sure you subscribe to the blog to receive the updates!

You can find the blog at www.easytechclub.com, on Twitter @easytechclub and on Facebook Easytechclub

Have you ever thought of making money with affiliate products?

This post is not one of my usual posts nor it is one of those hype “make money online” type of posts but I wanted to share with you a bit of my personal journey in the last year because I know that some of you will relate to it.

As some of you already know, I started this blog nearly 4 years ago to support the Life Coaching business for mothers I had just launched. I had just become a mum for the second time myself and I was very keen on sharing and helping other mothers enjoy motherhood.
I also was really passionate about having my own business because I wanted the flexibility for my boys and the freedom to make my own decision.

But it wasn’t long before I realised that before looking after other mums I needed to start looking after myself and this business launch just in time with the birth of my second baby was a tad unrealistic especially since my first was only 16 months old back then.

But what happened is that I joined the then only just launched British Mummy Bloggers (now Britmums) and I loved every single minute of it! I found other mums who had the same aspirations as me and the same geeky blogging passion. In some ways this was one of the defining moments of my life.

My blog started taking a huge space in my life and not only I was having fun but I was learning a tremendous amount about Online Marketing and Social Media.
I started earning a decent amount of money thanks to sponsored posts and advertising and other business owners were starting to ask me what this online stuff was all about and if I could show them.

In January 2011 I made my trainings official and started running workshops. The interest in those took me by surprise and I ran an average of 2 workshops a month for the whole year. I loved it and realised that teaching and training others was more rewarding that I could have ever hoped for.
The problem was however that in terms of business it had limits. I was spending a lot of hours offering and promoting my workshops as well as planning them to deliver the best training I could. The downside of that was that I had no work/life balance whatsoever and I was starting to reassess my personal goals.

In May last year I signed up for a mentor who showed me how to create my own information products online. This opened my eyes to a totally different universe and I started understanding how people made money online (BIG money online). I realised that the Internet was full of opportunities and that all you had to do was to seize yours. I met people at conferences who were achieving big results with affiliate programmes and selling their own information products. They were like you and me. They were not these big Internet gurus. They were totally normal and approachable people who knew how to leverage the Internet. So what until then had seemed like an unrealistic project became possible.

At the end of last year I was armed with enough belief to start looking in this direction and make money online. I realised that if you aim high you achieve high. Trust me it is hard for me to write this, simply because I know that there are a lot of people out there who don’t believe in this and who will judge this as nonsense.
The reason I decided to be totally honest and open here is because I want to share this with whoever is ready to take it.

A few weeks ago I found this guy, Stuart Ross. Stuart made his fortune online mainly through selling affiliate products. Just in case you are not sure what it is, it is the act of selling products created by other people in exchange of a commission. This has always sounded like too much work to me because I am not a natural sales person. Really not! I quit the only sales job I have ever had after 3 weeks and in tears. I hate cold calling and targets. I suppose affiliate marketing in some ways made feel like I would be doing the equivalent of cold calling online and having been scarred by that job there was no way I could do it again.
When I started watching Stuart’s videos I loved how he made the process sound. Stuart sells products he believes in (I can do that) with integrity (I like that) to people he builds relationship with (I certainly can do that!).
So I guess what I am sharing with you here is that I am going to work with him and see where it takes me. Just after 2 weeks of being a member I have already put all my processes in place and I am ready to go!

The reason I am writing this now is because Stuart is offering a very special deal that will run out on the 31 Jan 2012 and for just $4.97 you can give the Six Figures Mentors a try for 14 days! Thereafter the monthly payment to have access to an amazing amount of info is $97. The content is huge and will surely impress you!

I truly believe that Online Marketing and Information Marketing are an amazing opportunity for mums who want to make money working just a few hours a day and still have time to be mums. We are lucky to be at the beginning of the internet wave so let’s make the most of it, shall we?

Anyway I leave you with Stuart in a video where he takes you through his story and what you can expect working with him. The video is nearly 40 min long so I suggest you have a look when you can allocate some time just for it, but remember that the offer runs out next Monday 31st January 2012…

If you are already making money as an affiliate it would be lovey to hear your tips for success.

Going from PC to Mac…

So I HAVE AN iMAC!! and yes I am more excited than if I had bought a pair of dream shoes or an amazing bag and I love shoes and bags, oh yes I do!

There are a few things I hadn’t planned though for example the time I would spend google-ing things like:

  • Where is the hashtag on the keyboard (or am I BLIND?)
  • How do you copy and paste doing the quick “used to fingers and click on 2 keys at the same time”?
  • Still using two fingers how do you switch from one window to another? Still trying to figure that one out.
  • How do you do a quick “undo”?
  • How do you get the “magic mouse” to behave?
  • How do you do a left click for heaven’s sakes??!
  • Can’t they create a decent blog editor like Windows Live Writer?! This is quite surprising that in the world of sleekiness no one has come up with something good…

This aside and surely lots more as time goes, I am totally won over. The sound is amazing, the picture mind blowing, the look stunning… I might just marry it…

The day I lost my IPad…

I met IPad a few weeks ago and although I thought it was going to be an extra gadget, a damn good one I agree, it was still going to be just that: a gadget.

I couldn’t have been more wrong…

IPad and I really hit it off. We became attached from dawn to dusk. Every morning I would stretch out my arm and pick it up. I would check the weather, Twitter, Facebook, emails (just in case any would have landed in my inbox between 1am and 6am). I would then walk downstairs to pour my coffee while we put on TVCatchup.

My Ipad did so much for me, from making sure I had an updated food list at all time to playing solitaire while Cbeebies was on.

We even had the occasional bath when I would watch Glee or Desperate Housewives while surrounded by bubbles and candles. I treasured these special moments knowing that it wouldn’t be long before my 3 year old would realise that the IPad was not just a cool way to look at your own reflection. I kept that very quiet. I made sure it seemed liked the most boring thing ever.

It was good. IPad and I we had it very good until they discovered…

These F&CK$NG ANGRY BIRDS!!
